Keys to Reducing Weight

Happy New Year.

 

Do you want to lose weight in 2017? Do you want to know the missing keys to make it possible?

Let us begin with your mindset. Change the paradigm of losing weight to having a healthy weight. I believe there is no such thing as an ideal weight. Your body weight will naturally fluctuate often adding more pounds in the winter to help keep you warm. There is a reason you are holding onto more weight than you desire and it is your body’s way of talking to you. You may want to tune into your body and learn its language.  As you do also determine why you want to have a healthy weight. Are you doing it out of fear of being liked, judged or becoming sick? Instead shift your goal to loving and accepting yourself to feel just as you are. You cannot hate yourself thin. You may have heard the quote “what you resist, persists.  Often extra weight is a method of protection and call to ground.

The second key is to love yourself enough to make daily self-care a priority. Some examples are:

  1. Looking in the mirror and saying I love you. I love you just the way you are.
  2. Thank your body and all its parts for everything it does.
  3. Self-massage and send love to all parts of your body.
  4. Make eating in a relax, joyful fashion a priority.
  5. Chew your food.

The third key is using your intuition to understand what your body is telling you. Yes, everyone is intuitive. You are born with it and the more you use it the stronger it gets. For example, your craving are your allies. Recently during a very stressful time I was craving chocolate. This makes prefect since to me for physically I was wanting more magnesium and bitter taste to help detox the liver where anger is stored. Emotionally not only was I angry but also wanted to feel safe. I made chocolate nut butter and savored every bite.

RECIPE:

1 cup cooked ground lamb
1 cup chopped spinach
1 cup cooked beans
pinch of sea salt
1/8-1/4 teaspoon of ground rosemary

Combine all the ingredients in sauce pan and warm and serve.
